Novato Park project

A Critical Habitat in a Critical Location

While there are many options for the design of this park, one thing is not negotiable: these wetlands must be preserved and protected.

How did these wetlands get here and why aren't they already protected? The Hamilton levee seperates the Hamilton community from the Hamilton Wetland Restoration Project (HWRP), part of one of the largest environmental restoration projects in the nation.

Unfortunately, Ammo Hill’s wetlands sit on the wrong side of the levee and are not included in the HWRP. Someone has to save this precious land; that someone is us.

Beyond the trails and scenic overlooks we hope build the first permanent Wetlands Education Center in the North Bay. People are spending a lot of time and a lot of money to protect wetlands...shouldn't we have a place where we can teach people why?
